Outbound iDoc Processing and Monitoring with AIF

The figure names the two different ways to monitor outbound IDocs:

• Monitor existing IDocs in the Monitoring and Error Handling of AIF.
• Process IDocs using AIF.

With the IDoc scenario 1 you can monitor existing IDocs in the Monitoring and Error Handling transaction. The processing of the IDocs is not influenced by AIF. The scenario uses only the monitoring capabilities of the Monitoring and Error Handling.

Since AIF is not involved in processing, no index tables are created. Thus, AIF retrieves the data to be displayed in the data message view, from the IDOC control records.

The required structure and the first interface can be created using the AIF IDoc generation report. In the generation report, select scenario 4 to create the interface.

You can run the report a second time to generate the second interface (do not forget to change the IDoc name).
